I guess it’s a small world after all! I found my old neighbor from when I lived in Oregon City at state. Neither of us had an interest in cheer when I moved to Tigard in 5th grade, but somehow, we both ended up in cheerleading and here we are. But sadly, she was unable to compete as she had an injury. It’s her senior year and she could not compete at State. Best of luck in life, Cassidy! #longlostfriends #reunion #cheerleading #cheer #cheerleaders #oregoncity #tigard #state
Abbey just got her triple back-handspring! And on the wrestling mat!
My teammate Abbey doing her roundoff double back-handspring on the wrestling mat.
Yes, getting stabbed hurts, but have you ever tried slush bucketing?
Q:I'm 5ft maybe 5"2 and I weigh around 110-120 pounds a lot of that is in muscle cause I do a lot of bars and weight lifting, anywho I'm already on the team but I am a base I want to become a flyer and I've already asked coach and she keeps saying no, I have my scorpian, heel stretch , scale, and also a bow and arrow on each side and there are girls bigger than me and not as flexible that get to fly, how do I convince her I deserve to fly 😶
If your team does not have good, solid, one-footed stunts, your flexibility doesn’t mean anything. If you can’t squeeze well, your size doesn’t mean anything. If your team doesn’t need any more flyers but is in need of good bases, then your desire to be a flyer doesn’t mean anything. Not to be a debbie downer, but it’s just that I get this question a lot, and I will say this: express interest and offer to try flying when your team is on a break or is not doing anything serious. Most people want to be a flyer, but you need to show the coach you can fly well instead of telling her you just want to fly. Try an open gym and record yourself.
Q:how do i tell the coaches i want to fly without sounding kinda pushy?
Express an interest early on and ask if you can try it out at some point when the team isn’t being very serious or when they need a new flyer. But understand I get this question a lot, and there is no easy way to become a flyer. So sorry if this answer sucks.
Q:So I'm on a high school cheer team and I really need to work on my flexibility any tips?
Stretch, ask your coach what you need to stretch, find random parts of your house to stretch on (doorways, walls, couches, tables, parents), go to open stretch classes if you know a gym that does them, basically stretch a lot and stretch everywhere.
Q:Hey I'm on the varsity cheer team at my school and I have a lot of fun but some of the girls are not very serious about it and I feel like they are holding us back, what should I do
Tell the coach what you believe and ask the girls that you can trust how they feel. It’s entirely possible that your coach may already see this, but express your thoughts to them. Coaches go along with what they see and what they are told.
Q:Caption of the cheerleading team here:) I don't get why one of your pictures says "cramps" doesn't every girl get cramps? or is it just cheer? sorry if I sound stupid I am 18 and just got my period like last month.
I just know that they get pretty bad during cheer because it’s a lot of movement and they just get really bad for some girls. It’s bad in general, yes, but you get it.
